(I never claimed to be well-organized; at least I didn't have to use
negative numbers!)
The Catalina detachment fault is exposed in the near hill and can be
recognized by the thin, brown microbreccia ledge that begins in the
vegetated saddle on the right and has an apparent dip of about 15¡ to the left (SW).
Upper plate rocks on the left and top consist of white, folded Paleozoic
limestones (dipping to the right near the fault).
Lower plate rocks on the right and bottom consist of a gray, mylonitic injection
gneiss.
The Santa Catalina Mountains and part of Tucson (left) are in the background.
